Don't know if anyone on here knows much about this stuff. I'm learning, but I might be getting an Xbox 360 Elite this weekend, and I'm saving for an HDTV buy the end of the year, and I've found these that look good. I want to know which is better for gaming.

This one

this one

Or this one

honestly, you shouldn't have to go so big right off the bat, but if i were to choose out of those three, i'd either go for the samsung or the phillips. probably the phillips...

Those were the cheapest for 1080P though. That's why I chose them.

I personally wont pay that much for a TV, but if i had to pick one I would go for the Sony, the main reason being that Sony makes good quality stuff and are good about standing behind there product. And in the end the 200 dollar difference is negligible.

Id would stay away from anything magnavox or phillips. I have had 2 TV and 3 VCR's made by them and they have all went bad within a year.

And as far as the Samsung goes I think it would be a decent TV but Ive not had much experience with there brand beyond my camera and a cell phone

But thats my 2 copper for whats its worth

agreed, but the problem that i have with the sony, is that it is a projection TV. picture quality of projection TVs aren't that great. from ones i have seen in the past is that the color washes out on them fairly quickly. but they may have improved on the technology...

Yeah but the beauty of it is that by the time he buys one.. some of the newer technologies will be out and the current stuff will be a tad cheaper. So he can get next gen for the same price as he'll pay for the current stuff. Thats why im waiting when the new model plasmas and LCD's come out the stuff now will be cheaper.. Person i know at Best buy in Dayton said that in about 6 months or so the prices will start to drop.

Hopefully then i can find a 32-40 inch for a reasonable price but im not spending over 1k to get it

I am glad you said something.

I was going to buy one too.

But I didn't want to settle for a small t.v.

But if the prices drop later this year, I will be happy because I want at least a 32 inch hdtv.

my dad bought an HDTV, a couple of years ago, for about $400-$500. the one we have in apartment only cost Dave-0 about the same. the only reason why an HDTV is going to cost over a grand, is for the fact that its either LCD or plasma. honestly, i don't know if i would want to buy either at this time.

I don't think I would want plasma, simply because if you leave it on for too long, it eill imprint the an image onto and it would be ruined.

also, plasmas have a pretty much set shelf life, because of the process used to create the image. they only last a few years. that's not something that i want to put a grand into...
